DAY OF THE DEAD IN

San Miguel de Allende, MX

OCTOBER 30 - NOVEMBER 3, 2024

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE for Powerful Latina Leaders

Experience the magic of San Miguel de Allende, Conde Nast Traveler’s #1 Travel Destination and an amazing UNESCO World Heritage site during Day of the Dead 2024, accompanied by a small group of Latina professionals and entrepreneurs who, like you, are looking to develop their cultural self-awareness to affirm their authentic leadership and continue their professional advacenment.

I am Dr. Alejandra Mielke, and I’D LIKE TO INVITE YOU to JOIN us for a unique experience IN MEXICO!

I am proud to be a Mexican immigrant in the United States, and to be able to share some of my beautiful Mexico with you, while we are all engaged in meaningful discussion about who we are as Latinas during this cultural experience during Day of the Dead in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

While I’ve offered a variety of leadership development experiences in the past, this will be the first time I am offering a program in Mexico. The “Connecting to Our Heritage” adventure combines an intensive and immersive self-awareness and development experience with the travel experience you have been waiting for.

We will experience and reflect in a small group setting — minimum 5 and maximum 7 participants — to gain…

  • true awareness of the cultural identity that influence our performance as Latina leaders

  • deep understanding of our own personal journeys as Latina leaders - beliefs, emotions, and actions -and how those impact how you show up in the world

  • real-time experience of one of the most admired Mexican traditions: Day of the Dead

  • the power and practice of your voice for self and community advocacy!

This is a unique opportunity to see real Mexico and beautiful San Miguel and engage in meaningful work that will give you the awareness, confidence, and clarity needed to lead as a powerful Latina in a world that doesn’t expect us! It’s time!

 IMportant questions & answers

  • All flight arrangements are your responsibility and at your own cost. Please be mindful of potential delays or cancellations as you make your flight arrangements, and make sure your documentation required for travel is in order well in advance of your travel dates. And, by all means, book your flights as soon as possible.

  • Roundtrip airport transfers by shuttle are provided from Leon/Guanajuato (BJX) and Querétaro (QRO) Airports. These are two airports that service San Miguel: Querétaro (QRO) and León/Guanajuato (BJX).

Querétaro is about 75 minutes from SMA; Leon is about 90 minutes from SMA. I prefer flying into QRO as the ride to town is a bit easier—mostly via a highway and less time on country roads.

However, there are generally more flights in and out of Leon. United, Delta and American Airlines service these two cities. Book your flights as soon as you can.

  • All citizens of the USA must present a valid passport to enter Mexico that does not expire within 6 months of the date of entry.

  • Your reservation is not considered definite and no contract will exist until you submit payment for a $500.00 USD, non-refundable deposit, and you agree to our contract.

After you submit your reservation request and if there are spots available, you will receive an email with instructions to sign a contract, pay your deposit, and agree to our terms and conditions.

  • Payment for participation is handled as follows:

    1) A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to secure your seat.

    2) The final payment, covering the remaining balance based on selected room occupancy, will be due no later than August 25th, 2024.

All payments can be made online through a credit card. You will receive a contract, agreement, and form of payment when you submit your reservation request.

  • Yes! If you’d like to be notified if a seat opens up before the travel date, or if you’d like to hear about future retreats, please contact alejandra@alejandramielke.com to get placed on the waiting list!

  • You may cancel your participation providing that the cancellation is made by the person submitting the reservation form and the request is made in writing to alejandra@alejandramielke.com. Cancellation will take effect the day such notification is received by Alejandra Mielke, PhD.

If such cancellation is made Alejandra will retain the deposit for the retreat. However, if another person can be found to take your place, then you may be offered a refund at our discretion.

Cancellation notices received after August 25th, 2024 will receive no refund unless another person can take that spot.

We reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel a retreat. In particular, this retreat requires a minimum number of at least 7 participants to have booked by 30 days before the start date. If this minimum number is not reached by that date we may cancel and refund your money.

  • Yes! We will meet virtually, via Zoom, once all participants are confirmed, to review details about the retreat, meet each other informally, and to answer any questions you may have. Once your participation is confirmed, keep on the lookout for your pre-departure meeting invitation!

I can’t wait to see you in San Miguel!
