WHAT I’m UP to.

I’m probably enjoying a margarita on an Austin patio, and dreaming of ways I can help other Latina professionals and entrepreneurs leverage their strengths so they can thrive, and remain excited and energized for what lies ahead. I specialize in helping women manage challenging transitions in their lives so they can navigate a path forward successfully. This lights me up, because I’ve been there too!

Where I’ve been.

It’s been a wild ride so far! I’ve dealt with my own share of transformations in life, such as:

✓ Leaving a comfortable decade-long career in elementary education to explore new alternatives;

✓ Leaving my home country of Mexico to go back to school in the U.S. (and study in a second language!);

✓ Earning a Ph.D. degree (the first in my family);

✓ Becoming a mother later in life and adjusting to motherhood, away from extended family;

✓ Leaving a career in academia to start my own Coaching and DEI consulting business.

And, in case you’re wondering, women of color are still highly underrepresented in academia today, and according to Forbes, they’re also underrepresented in career coaching.

There is so much work to be done, and I don’t take this responsibility lightly. It’s my honor and duty to work with Latinas who feel they are not fulfilling their potential, are chasing career and life goals that will take them farther away from what they REALLY want, and are looking for something MORE!

Working together we will uncover their power, determination, and resilience to be and do what truly makes them happy and live a full life on their own terms!

 

  • My life values are: Connection, belonging, inclusiveness, abundance, freedom, kindness, compassion, harmony and curiosity.

    And my Mexico, with all its flavors, smells, friends, and family, is one of most valuable treasures.

  • My husband, my son and my clients! Oh, and our 6-year-old Chihuahua, Spotify who believes he’s human.

  • Lime, salt, and Tajín. Bright, red lipstick! And everything old - I have a nostalgic soul and love antique shops, estate sales, old towns in Central Mexico, and old TV shows like Mary Tyler Moore. I own every season, and it never gets old.

  • Podcasts where beautiful stories about people and their trials, tribulations and joys and showcased. The Moth, Heavyweight, Family Secrets are some of my favorites...

  • A pile of memoirs. Definitely my favorite genre - love to read others’ journeys!

  • My clients have that “aha” moment that changes everything!

THE Official Bio

Dr. Rodriguez Mielke (she, her, hers) is a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Consultant, Leadership Coach and the founder and CEO of Latina Power Coaching.

Alejandra is a former education research project manager and consultant, professional development writer and trainer whose roles have included leading a federal literacy initiative; managing longitudinal, multi-site research projects, and facilitating more than 1000 hours of training sessions nationally and internationally.

Alejandra holds a Ph.D. in Language & Literacy from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as an MA in Education from Framingham State University and a BA in English & Linguistics from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).

She is also an Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP), is certified as a Professional Coach through the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) and holds an Associate Coach Certification (ACC) by the International Coaching Federation. 

Currently, Alejandra’s passion is supporting Latina professionals and entrepreneurs, helping them tap into their own power in order to pursue their dreams and live happier, more fulfilled lives at home and at work.

In her work with leaders, Alejandra brings her professional expertise and academic rigor, as well as her own experiences as a Latina/Woman of Color. This is connected to her strong belief that people are far closer to achieving the kind of breakthroughs that will allow them to move toward their goals and dreams confidently.

She lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and son.
